Indian almond bark (Catappa Bark) – The natural long-term pharmacy for your aquarium

Bring the concentrated power of nature into your aquarium. Our Indian almond bark is the ideal complement to or alternative to Indian almond leaves. It is rich in valuable humic substances and tannins that sustainably improve the well-being of your fish and invertebrates.

Concentrated effectiveness & natural design

While leaves often need to be replaced after just a few weeks, the bark of the Indian almond tree ( Terminalia catappa ) offers a long-lasting effect lasting several months . It effectively protects your animals from fungal and bacterial infections without abruptly altering the water parameters.

Your advantages in the aquarium:

  • Powerful healing properties: Naturally antibacterial, fungicidal and anti-inflammatory.
  • Optimal mucous membrane protection: Especially important for discus fish, angelfish and sensitive wild-caught fish.
  • Natural hiding place: The rolls serve as a safe retreat and grazing area for shrimp, crayfish and small catfish.
  • Long-lasting effect: Releases humic substances very slowly and evenly – ideal for stable water chemistry.
  • Reducing germ pressure: Creates a near-natural environment that reduces stress and promotes spawning readiness.

Application & Dosage

The bark is extremely productive and easy to handle:

  • Dosage: One piece of bark (approx. 8–10 cm) is sufficient for about 50 to 100 liters of aquarium water.
  • Preparation: Briefly rinse under running water. The bark usually floats initially and sinks to the bottom after about 24 hours.
  • Duration: The effect lasts approximately 3 to 4 months . After that, the bark can remain in the tank as decoration or be replaced.
