Guava leaves, 12 pieces
Guava leaves (Psidium guajava) – Natural water care & valuable supplementary food
Bring a piece of nature into your aquarium! Our dried guava leaves not only enhance the visual appeal of any aquascape, but also act as a natural "pharmacy" for your aquarium inhabitants. They are especially popular with shrimp, snails, and bottom-dwelling fish such as catfish.
Why guava leaves for your aquarium?
Unlike traditional Indian almond leaves, guava leaves release their valuable nutrients more slowly and over a longer period . The water is hardly clouded or discolored to an amber hue – ideal for aquarium owners who prefer clear water.
The advantages at a glance:
- Natural disease prevention: Rich in tannins, which can have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
- Skin & Shell: Supports the molting of shrimp and protects the mucous membranes of fish.
- Biofilm magnet: A nutritious biofilm quickly forms on the leaf surface, which shrimp and young fish love to graze on.
- Long shelf life: The structure of guava leaves is firmer than that of many other types of leaves, which means they decompose much more slowly in water.
Application & Dosage
The application is extremely simple:
- Preparation: We recommend briefly scalding the leaves with boiling water. This makes them sink faster and slightly breaks down the cell structure for the animals.
- Dosage: 1 to 2 leaves per approximately 50 liters of aquarium water.
- Wait: After 1–2 days, the leaves sink to the ground and unfold their full effect.
