Blackworms 5-25 x 90ml
Blackworms (Lumbriculus variegatus) – Live food for vital ornamental fish
Are you looking for the ideal food to boost the vitality, vibrant colors, and breeding readiness of your aquarium inhabitants? Blackworms (Lumbriculus variegatus) are among the highest quality live foods available in aquariums. They are not only extremely nutritious but also stimulate your fish's natural hunting instincts through their movement.
Why blackworms are the best choice for your aquarium:
- Protein-rich & nutritious: Blackworms are true "nutrient bombs". They provide essential proteins and fats that are particularly important for the growth of young fish and the conditioning of breeding animals.
- Long lifespan: Unlike many other live food species, blackworms do not die in freshwater. They can burrow into the substrate and thus serve as a natural, fresh food source for your fish for days.
- Clean & Safe: Our blackworms come from controlled cultures. The risk of introducing parasites or diseases into your aquarium is minimal compared to pond food.
- Ideal for picky eaters: Whether discus, angelfish, dwarf cichlids or armored catfish – the wriggling movement of the worms is almost impossible for any fish to resist.

Feeding recommendations & storage
Feeding: Simply add the desired amount directly to the aquarium or use a fine sieve to rinse off the transport water. The worms sink quickly to the bottom, where they are especially popular with bottom-dwelling fish such as catfish.
Storage: Store the bags in a cool place (ideally at 2–8 °C in the refrigerator). This will keep the blackworms fresh and active for several weeks.
Tip: Blackworms can even be bred in the aquarium! If some worms survive in the substrate, they form a permanent, natural food source for your fish.
